All Finished!

15 Jul

Ok… here it is in all its glory. I finished the whole porch and all the trim has been painted out to get rid of the pink. Like I said before I still plan on removing the siding next year but this is a major improvement that makes me feel like IBB is no longer the crummiest house on the street. I also think that the new trim color helps to draw out some of the details on the house that were getting lost in the sea of white.

In case you don’t remember here is the before:

Here are the most recent shots of the inside of the porch. Notice the ceiling has been painted since last update and I changed the color of the crown molding. I will also putting in a new craftsman style light fixture as soon as my school district sends me my paycheck (its been four weeks, currently IBB is only doing free or almost free projects… next up clean the basement)

I’m still looking for a different coffee table for  this space incase anybody has any leads. I’m thinking something simple, something wooden and something that I could paint black would be great.I’m also thinking about making a couple of pillows for the chairs and the loveseat to add some punch.

I will say that the cat got out several times during the painting process and several times I got cat prints both on freshly painted floors and on not so freshly painted interior hardwood floors, thank goodness I caught it quickly and it wiped right up. I am not a master at cutting in and I’m still going to need to have a friend over in order to do a few minor touch ups which should be pretty easy for someone with a steady hand.
