New Wallpaper

Ok, so I finally did it. I hung the wallpaper in the dinning room. It was much easier than I thought it was going to be. Once the first sheet went up and I got the hang of trimming it and sliding it around the wall with my palms I had it all up in a few hours. The hardest part was cutting around the window sills, but with a steady had I don’t think I did too bad of a job.

I also changed the color on the top of the room. The new color is called Suede Gray. It’s a greige color and I think it makes the room look more sophisticated. I’ll also say that the room looks a lot larger.

Once that was complete I also changed the wall behind the mantle in the Living Room because I wanted the rooms to relate to one another in some way. So I did away with the stripes and painted that wall in the Suede Gray as well and now it looks like this:

Here are a couple of close up shots of the wallpaper

It was an Allen & Roth paper from Lowe’s and was reasonably priced at 20 dollars a roll. I think it is called Spanish Tile. Once all the paper was up I hung up most of my old pictures and hung up my old ironstone that I had up at first but then took down later. I’m holding off on hanging the black and white Life Magazine photos I had around the desk because I might want to do something else and hanging pictures on wallpaper is a big commitment.

Sorry about the grainy pictures. I’m using my phone. I’m really hoping Santa brings me a camera this year- Santa are you listening?

The wallpaper looks lovely! Looks like you have picture rail between the wallpaper & the paint above – get the proper hooks & wire to hang your artwork and there will be no damage to the wallpaper.

I really like that, it looks terrific.

I would think about changing out the sailboat picture, myself. The color, size, different period really stand out against the rest of the room and take attention away from the great room.
